The Director of Business Development at Acclinate plays a pivotal role in driving growth by securing and expanding high-value partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies. The individual will have deep pharma experience, enabling them to hit the ground running to secure high-value 2026 revenue. You will be responsible for navigating complex pharma landscapes to identify new opportunities, service existing accounts, and promote Acclinate’s technology, platforms, and services across multiple therapeutic areas. Your primary objective is to convert high-intent interest into predictable, high-margin revenue by demonstrating that better representation leads to better science.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Revenue & Quota Attainment: Responsible for meeting or exceeding an individual annual revenue quota by aggressively pursuing and converting deals to closure.
- Strategic Account Management: Develop and execute comprehensive account plans for Large and Mid-sized Pharma clients, focusing on deepening relationship value and increasing revenue.
- Enterprise Sales Execution: Lead the pursuit of therapeutic area (TA) level partnerships, moving clients from study-by-study deals to enterprise-wide infrastructure.
- Pipeline & Opportunity Management: Responsible for aggressive opportunity management and accurate forecasting to hit our pipeline targets.
- Presentations: Lead presentations to senior pharmaceutical leadership, showcasing how Acclinate’s e-DICT™ intelligence engine and the NOWINCLUDED community solve recruitment inefficiencies.
- Market Intelligence: Utilize industry networks and business intelligence to identify shifts in the regulatory landscape that drive demand for inclusive research.
- Collaboration & Implementation: Participate in proposal scope development and work with the Customer Experience (CX) team to ensure seamless transition from "closed-won" to project kick-off.
- Prospecting & Networking: Proactively identify new business through targeted outreach and active participation in major industry conferences.
- CRM Rigor: Use internal tools to manage accounts, contacts, and all corresponding activities with absolute consistency and rigor.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Deep Pharma Expertise: Advanced knowledge of the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, specifically regarding clinical trial enrollment and retention.
- Consistent Revenue Generator: Demonstrated ability to close high-value contracts (e.g., $2M+ multi-year agreements) and navigate complex procurement processes.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to sell a "strategic reality" rather than just a service, aligning Acclinate’s value proposition with pharma’s rigorous ROI metrics.
- Travel: Ability to travel for in-person meetings with key stakeholders and decision-makers at pharma hubs.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills to champion cross-sector solutions at the executive level.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Life Sciences preferred.
- 5+ years of experience selling directly to pharmaceutical companies or large CROs.
- Demonstrated track record of direct interaction with mid-level and executive decision-makers (SVP/VP level) within clinical trial operations and diversity departments.
