Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer with deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and Next.js to lead our front-end development efforts. In this role, you will guide the team in designing and building intuitive and efficient user experiences for our machine learning and artificial intelligence products used in the manufacturing industry. You will own the front-end architecture, provide technical leadership, and ensure that best practices are followed throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Front-End Development: Own the architecture, design, and implementation of front-end features in our data analytics platform. Set the technical direction for the front-end team and ensure alignment with product goals.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide front-end developers, conducting code reviews, providing feedback, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
• UI/UX Design and Implementation: Work closely with stakeholders, designers, and product teams to drive the design and implementation of user interfaces. Take initiative in resolving ambiguity and ensuring the best user experience.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work alongside product managers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and backend developers to ensure seamless end-to-end functionality and an exceptional user experience.
• Drive Code Quality and Efficiency: Develop and maintain reusable code and components. Identify and address technical debt and ensure that the team follows best practices for performance, scalability, and security.
• Optimize Applications: Guide the team in optimizing applications for speed and scalability, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Ensure Testing and Quality Assurance: Lead the adoption of frontend testing tools and methodologies, including Jest, React Testing Library, and MSW, to maintain high code quality.
• Contribute to API Development: Collaborate with backend teams on API designs, ensuring robust front-end integration with microservices. Implement small Node.js backend features when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in front-end development, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• React and Next.js Expertise: Proven experience architecting and developing complex applications using React and Next.js.
• TypeScript Proficiency: Strong skills in TypeScript for building maintainable and scalable codebases.
• Component Libraries: Experience with design systems and component libraries such as Material UI.
• Data Visualization Expertise: Proficiency with libraries like D3, Echarts, and Recharts for creating interactive, data-driven interfaces.
• Frontend Testing and CI/CD: Deep knowledge of frontend testing frameworks and experience with CI/CD pipelines in cloud-native environments.
• Client-Side Data Lifecycle Management: Experience using tools like React Query for efficient data fetching and management.
• Cross-Browser Compatibility and Responsive Design: Proven ability to ensure cross-browser compatibility and develop responsive, mobile-friendly applications.

Nice to Have:

• Microservices and Multi-Cloud Deployment: Familiarity with microservices architecture and experience deploying applications in multi-cloud environments.
• Security and Networking: Knowledge of browser security best practices and networking principles as they relate to front-end development.
• Node.js Backend Experience: Hands-on experience with backend development in Node.js is an asset.
