Our client is a venture-backed AI startup building the future of hardware design. Their platform uses AI to automate work that takes engineering teams weeks or months today, reducing time-to-validated-design dramatically. They're working with engineering teams at hardware companies across aerospace, automotive, medical devices, robotics, semiconductors, and consumer electronics and they're growing fast in the US market.
The Opportunity
This is a ground-floor SDR role at a high-growth AI company sitting at one of the most defensible intersections being built right now: AI and hardware design. As their SDR, you'll work directly with the founders and the revenue team to prospect into engineering leaders at top hardware companies, and book qualified meetings for the founder-led sales motion.
This is a 1099 contract-to-hire role: prove yourself in the first 90 days and convert to full-time. The right candidate will use this role as the launchpad for a senior SaaS sales career.
What You'll Do
- Build and execute outbound prospecting campaigns into VP Engineering, Director of Hardware, Chief Electronics Engineer, and Head of Product Engineering at hardware companies
- Run multi-channel outreach (cold email, LinkedIn, phone) tailored to a technical engineering buyer
- Book qualified discovery calls for the Sales Leader
- Use Apollo, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, Nooks and AI tooling as part of the daily workflow
- Collaborate directly with their Sales Leader on messaging, positioning, and feedback loops
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of B2B SaaS SDR/BDR experience with a track record of consistent quota attainment
- Experience cold calling
- Background selling technical products to engineering buyers is a strong plus — EDA, CAD/CAE, PLM, engineering software, IoT, or hardware-adjacent SaaS
- Strong written communication engineering buyers respond to substance, not charisma
- Comfortable with longer technical sales cycles (6-9 months typical)
- Self-starter, hungry, and excited to build something from the ground up
Compensation
- $5,000-$6,000/month base during the contract period (40 hours/week, 1099)
- Commission on qualified meetings held
- Full-time conversion after a successful contract period
