We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Athens. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our underwater robotic systems. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and underwater engineering challenges.Key

Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

• Develop innovative mechanical systems for underwater robotics, including frame structures, propulsion systems, and sealing mechanisms.
• Conduct detailed CAD modeling, simulation, and prototyping using software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Testing & Validation:

• Perform rigorous testing of robotic systems in underwater environments to ensure performance, durability, and safety.
• Analyze test data and iterate designs for optimal functionality.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electronics, software, and manufacturing, to integrate mechanical designs with other subsystems.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for material and component selection.

Sustainability:

• Ensure designs align with environmental and sustainability goals, minimizing ecological impact.

Documentation:

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of design changes, test results, and maintenance procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or underwater systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of materials science, particularly corrosion-resistant materials for marine environments.
• Experience with fluid dynamics and underwater propulsion systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, 3D printing, and welding.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in underwater robotics or marine engineering.
• Knowledge of sealing techniques for underwater applications.
• Understanding of electromechanical systems integration.
• Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing underwater systems.
