About the Company
Hae CPG is a collective of operations and supply chain experts leading emerging beauty and wellness brands through their growth journey. With our support, brands have peace of mind, knowing they have access to the full spectrum of operational support, from the nitty-gritty of daily operations to the strategic foresight needed for long-term success.
From product conception to the doorstep of customers – we specialize in laying down the foundation of a brand’s business and executing their ideas, so they can focus on their number one priority – growth.
Our areas of expertise include inventory planning, production management, 3PL sourcing, retail and e-commerce fulfillment and operations, and transportation logistics. Our team has experience working with and shipping to most retailers in the US and globally, including Sephora, Ulta, Target, Nordstrom, Violet Grey, Cult Beauty, Mecca, and more.
Role Description
We’re looking for a strategic and execution-focused Director of Operations to join our team! This is a leadership role for someone with a strong CPG operations background, deep curiosity, and a sharp eye for both process and people.
The ideal candidate has experience scaling DTC and retail brands, is fluent in data and systems, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You’ll lead relationships for some of our most complex, scaling brands, serve as a strategic partner to founders and brand teams, and help level up how we operate internally.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead client operations across logistics, inventory, fulfillment, retail readiness, and production/vendor management for a portfolio of high-growth brands.
- Build trusted relationships with founders and senior brand teams, serving as a strategic advisor and primary point of contact.
- Advise on, assess, and dissect all operational functions within a CPG/beauty brand, including supply chain, production, fulfillment, inventory, systems, and retail, providing strategic direction and clear recommendations to optimize performance and resolve issues.
- Identify and implement operational improvements across 3PLs, freight, retail platforms, and systems integrations—bridging strategy with execution.
- Analyze and communicate key performance data related to inventory, freight, retail shipments, and costs. Turn data into insights and actions.
- Manage end-to-end production, from PO creation and vendor coordination to manufacturing timelines, BOM oversight, and on-time delivery of finished goods.
- Create and maintain custom reports for EOM Close, COGS, inventory analysis, and performance tracking, tailored to each client’s needs and systems.
- Manage and mentor team members, including Operations Managers and Associates. Guide their client work and help them grow in their roles.
- Work across systems and tools (Excel, ERPs, Shopify, WMS, EDI, middleware, etc.) to diagnose issues and improve visibility and reporting.
- Ensure client workflows are documented and scalable, including SOPs, templates, and playbooks for reporting, fulfillment, and inventory flows.
- Support cross-functional initiatives, including new product launches, retailer onboarding, component sourcing, and BOM management.
- Triage operational fires and know when to be hands-on versus when to delegate. Stay calm and effective under pressure.
- Contribute to internal best practices, helping Hae CPG scale our service model as we grow.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in CPG/retail/beauty operations, with a strong background in logistics, fulfillment, inventory, supply chain
- Experienced in scaling operations, from startup stage through growth, with exposure to systems, retail partners, and 3PL transitions.
- Fluent in Excel and comfortable working in datasets (pulling insights, building reports, and communicating with clarity)
- Confident navigating ERPs, Shopify, WMS, and systems integrations.
- A strategic thinker who also likes getting into the weeds. You’re energized by both solving problems and executing well.
- Strong communicator and relationship-builder who’s comfortable interfacing with brand teams, founders, logistics partners and vendors alike
- Startup-minded, resourceful, adaptable, and energized by change and a fast pace. You’re comfortable leading in ambiguity and building structure as you go.
- Skilled at managing people and projects, keeping teams aligned and clients informed.
- Comfortable managing up, down, and sideways. You bring emotional intelligence and leadership presence to everything you do.
