Your Role At MediaLab
At Medialab, the Data Team is responsible for making data available throughout the organization. As a data analyst, you will work closely with business users to understand business drivers and find actionable insights that can be used to improve efficiencies and outcomes. You will use your deep understanding of the programmatic ad business to inform your investigations within a vast dataset that encompasses all of the medialab properties, with a specific focus to identify and interpret trends related to core advertising metrics like ad requests, ad fill rate, viewability, eCPM, etc. Reporting to the director of data management, you will partner with data engineering and business intelligence, as well as with your customers.

What You'll Do

  • Performing deep-dive analyses to answer complex business questions
  • Draw meaningful conclusions and make recommendations based on data analysis to test hypotheses that drive incremental revenue for MediaLab’s Assembly Exchange
  • Utilize strong SQL and Excel skills to manipulate and analyze data
  • Develop a deep expertise in Medialab’s ad stack, becoming a subject matter expert who is a resource across the organization for questions about data sources
  • Extract, load and transform data from multiple sources for global business reporting
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and business leaders, to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Drive decision making through data insights, quantitative analysis, and A/B testing

What We're Looking For

  • 1-2 years of industry experience in Ad Tech and understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem, with the ability to concretely explain Ad Tech concepts like openRTB, DSPs, and SSPs.
  • Comfort with common statistical models (regression, clustering, correlation) and proven experience with python or R
  • Experience proactively researching open-ended questions and finding insights
  • Expertise in visualization and using data insights to make recommendations and achieve goals
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects with great attention to detail
  • Ability to clearly operate autonomously with ambiguous datasets to uncover potential trends, identify opportunities to test hypotheses, communicate results and drive impact.
  • Strongly skilled at manipulating and integrating data from a variety of sources
  • Proficiency with test design, model development and documentation
  • Real world examples applying deep dive analysis / root cause analysis to drive KPI impact
  • Hands on experience with analytical coding in R or Python in the social, mobile gaming and / or technology industry
  • Master's Degree or PhD in a quantitative field is an added bonus
