Your Role at MediaLab
MediaLab Engineering supports a growing number of applications across multiple business verticals which have been acquired through a careful selection process to integrate with its internal Ad platform that processes billions of impressions a month. The technical effort involved is massive and we need go-getters looking to make a substantial impact.
We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with high attention to detail and a professional, methodical and technical approach to the execution of software in a cloud architecture to work on Imgur - our image hosting and sharing platform that allows users to upload, store, and share images and animated GIFs.
The ideal candidate must be self-directed and prepared to scale their own responsibilities along with the company. We are looking for someone that is passionate about multi-faceted, large scale systems that serve billions of users on a daily basis.
What You'll Do
- Architect, implement and optimize Imgur’s software infrastructure stack.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and operability of Imgur’s production software components.
- Build automation and tools to deploy, configure, and manage Imgur’s applications.
- Troubleshoot stability and performance issues.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
What We're Searching For
- 4 years managing world-class production systems either as a DevOps Engineer, an SRE, or a Production Engineer.
- Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes is a must.
- Developing infrastructure as code with terraform.
- Experience with configuration management using Chef or similar configuration management software
- Experience operating cloud-based environments, AWS being preferred.
- Expertise in either systems (preferred!), databases, or Networks (layer 3 and higher).
- Strong scripting skills to develop custom tools and automation.
- Thorough understanding of best practices related to performance, disaster recovery, and security.
- English proficiency required.
