Your Role at Genius

As our Manager, Artist & Label Relations, you will be an ambassador for Genius content and products amongst the artist community and label partners. This position will report into the VP of Music & Content, while managing all of Genius’ touch points for artists bookings, including the Genius For Artists product, organic video bookings and branded content bookings. You’ll be expected to promote our brand mission to labels, press, artists and management teams, as well participate in industry panels, while helping to align us with meaningful opportunities.


Location: Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY (only).


What You’ll Do
  • Liaise with the product team, contributing artist/label focused insight into the development of our new Genius For Artist product.
  • Manage and support a direct report, providing guidance, feedback, and day-to-day direction
  • Introduce the Genius for Artist product to artists, managers, labels and distributors to encourage sign-up.
  • Help establish benchmarks that will encourage Genius For Artist growth.
  • Act as an ambassador for all Genius artist-focused initiatives and products.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create materials and collateral that embody the spirit of Genius for Artist-focused initiatives.
  • Manage the directional talent process for sales/marketing, as well as bookings for branded content and Genius events.
  • Collaborate with the video department on artist bookings for Genius original video series such as Open Mic and Verified.
  • Partner with labels and artists to create content events like full week takeovers for artists and other out-of-the-ordinary content plays.
  • Collaborate with Genius B.E.A.T. and other artist-centered not-for-profit projects.
  • Represent Genius and our artist-centered products in press and industry panels.
  • Monitor competitive products and changes in the industry to make sure we’re always current if not a step ahead.
What We’re Searching For
  • 3–5 years of experience in artist-facing roles within a music-focused company, with at least 1–3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven experience leading artist-focused initiatives across music and content.
  • Background in working with record labels, management teams and artist agencies.
  • Background in working with cross-functional teams: design, marketing, product, production, and sales.
  • You have demonstrated success running artist-focused campaigns, with a track record of shown results.
  • You have a firm understanding of what artists need to jumpstart and maintain their careers.
  • You have proven experience in creating and managing project rollouts.
  • Ability to balance creative vision with business objectives and timelines.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving.
  • You have experience in building and implementing platform specific creative strategies.
  • You’re a creative thinker with excellent storytelling and marketing skills.
  • You have a strong understanding of creative content trends, audience behavior, and best practices across the digital landscape.
  • You have an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, optimize strategies and build social media reports.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Music Business, Communications, or a related field preferred

The base salary range for this position is $115,000–$135,000 and is determined based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, relevant skills, and industry knowledge.
