Description
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead the structuring and flowdown of FAA and standards certification requirements to the equipment design team
- Provide guidance to the engineering team on specifics of demonstrating compliance with FAA aircraft requirements
- Be single point of contact on equipment and systems certification methods referencing and distilling FARs/ASTM standard
- Support commercial certification project design reviews and trade studies
- Support and guide design engineering team in required certification documentation
- Support establishment of qualified validation and verification process
- Reports to Manager, Systems Engineering
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline
- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in commercial aviation certification programs
- Expert knowledge of G1 form for certification basis for Part 23-64 and special conditions
- Expert knowledge of G2 form for means/methods of compliance (Part 23-64, 33, 35, 36, 39)
- Expert in developing compliance matrices for Subparts B thru G
- Proficient with requirements database tools
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline
- Successful FAA certification of TC or STC project compliant with Part 23 and/or Part 33
- Expert knowledge of ARP4761 and ARP4754
- Expert knowledge of Parts 25, 43, 91, and 135
- Expert with Jama requirements database tool
- Experience with electrified propulsion certification-intent projects
