Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist with strong people management skills to lead high-impact analytics projects, drive innovation, and manage a team of data professionals. This role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and team leadership to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Duties:

• Lead and manage a team of data scientists, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and career development support.
• Guide the team in designing and building robust machine learning models, data pipelines, and analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define priorities and align data science efforts with strategic goals.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of projects by setting standards for coding, documentation, testing, and model validation.
• Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to executives and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics, with at least 2 years in a team lead or managerial role.

Technical skills

• Strong foundation in mathematical modeling and statistical analysis, with the ability to apply these methods to solve complex, real-world problems.
• Proficient in data visualization and analytical tools such as Tableau, Power BI, STATA, and Microsoft Excel, with a focus on delivering clear and actionable insights.
• Experienced in conducting end-to-end research and analysis, including data exploration, hypothesis testing, and presenting evidence-based conclusions and practical solutions.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL; able to quickly learn and adapt to new tools or languages as needed for project requirements.

Leadership skills

• Proven experience managing and scaling data science or analytics teams.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and foster a high-performing team culture.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
