Arvist Inc. Head of Product Chicago, IL · Remote · Full time Company website
Warehouses lose billions every year to damaged goods, mislabeled shipments, and claims that should never have happened. We're fixing that with AI-powered quality control that runs on the infrastructure warehouses already have -- cameras, WMS, tablets -- and deploys in under a day. We're looking for a hands-on product and technology leader to own our roadmap, lead discovery with 3PL operators and warehouse managers, and drive the development of the agent and workflow layer on top of our computer vision platform. You'll also set the technical strategy for how we deploy and scale camera-based QC stations in the field. This role is for someone who has worked in logistics or warehousing, knows how to earn trust on the floor, and wants to build something that actually changes how operations run. Based in Chicago or willing to travel there regularly.
About Arvist Inc.
Description
About Arvist
Warehouses lose 2 to 10 percent of revenue to claims from damaged goods, labeling errors, and wrong shipments because quality control is still manual, fragmented, and error prone. Arvist fixes this with a QC-in-a-box solution: a real-time QC and compliance platform that runs on the infrastructure warehouses already have. By connecting to cameras, WMS, and tablets, Arvist automates error detection, generates visual audit trails, and automates claims management.
Our plug-and-play approach enables deployment in under a day, drives immediate ROI by cutting claims and labor costs, and creates long-term value through visual data-driven visibility into operations. We support 3PLs and industries such as food, beverage, and pharmaceuticals in achieving unparalleled operational excellence.
We are a seed-stage company growing quickly, with active deployments and a roadmap that spans computer vision AI, agentic workflows for warehouse operations, and scalable QC station infrastructure. This is a foundational leadership hire.
The Role
We are looking for a Head of Product and Technology who can operate across the full product and technical surface area of Arvist. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, hands-on execution, and infrastructure leadership. You will own our product roadmap, drive discovery and development for our agent and workflow layer, and set the technical direction for how we deploy and scale our computer vision systems in the field.
This is not a hands-off role. We need someone who can lead product discovery with customers, translate operator and warehouse manager feedback into tight requirements, and work directly with engineering to ship. At the same time, you need the technical depth to make smart decisions about CV model strategy, camera and networking infrastructure, and how we build QC stations that hold up in demanding warehouse environments.
What You Will Own
Product Strategy and Discovery
– Own the product roadmap end-to-end, balancing near-term client commitments with long-term platform investment
– Lead discovery directly with operators, plant managers, and enterprise clients to surface real problems and validate solutions before we build
– Define and prioritize the non-AI product layer: agentic workflows, alerting, reporting, dashboards, and integrations that logistics and manufacturing operators actually use
– Work closely with the CEO on go-to-market fit, positioning, and what we commit to in sales conversations
Agent and Workflow Development
– Lead product development for AI agents built on top of our core computer vision layer, including agents for defect routing, compliance logging, exception handling, and operational alerting
– Define integration patterns with WMS, TMS, and other logistics systems our clients run
– Work with engineering to ship workflow tooling that operators can configure without relying on Arvist for every change
Computer Vision Strategy
– Set the product and technical strategy for how we develop, train, and improve our CV models, without necessarily doing the ML work yourself
– Drive decisions around model performance benchmarks, edge vs. cloud inference, and how we handle model updates across deployed sites
– Own the feedback loop between field performance data and model improvement, making sure what we see in production actually improves the product
Hardware, Infrastructure, and Deployment
– Define the architecture and standards for QC station deployment: camera selection and placement, compute hardware, networking, and power infrastructure in industrial environments
– Own the playbook for how we deploy, configure, and scale camera-based inspection systems across multiple sites
– Make smart decisions about on-premise vs. hybrid infrastructure given the security and connectivity realities of our clients' facilities
– Work with engineering and operations to ensure deployments are repeatable, maintainable, and built to scale without heroics
What We Are Looking For
You are probably a strong fit if you have:
– Meaningful product management experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or a closely adjacent domain, ideally in environments where software skepticism was real and had to be earned
– Hands-on experience leading product discovery: talking to operators and warehouse managers, getting on the floor, and translating messy feedback into crisp requirements
– Technical fluency in computer vision or machine learning systems, enough to set strategy and ask the right questions even if you are not writing the models
– Real experience with physical hardware deployments: security camera systems, networking infrastructure, edge compute, or similar in complex facility environments
– A track record of shipping software in resource-constrained, fast-moving environments where you had to make good calls with incomplete information
– The ability to move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution without losing altitude on either
– Experience at a startup or in a role where the product scope was still being defined and you helped define it
Bonus points for:
– Experience with warehouse management systems, claims management workflows, or logistics compliance tooling (WMS, TMS, LMS)
– Familiarity with RTSP-based camera infrastructure, PoE networking, or industrial IoT system design
– Prior work at a vertical AI company or industrial SaaS company selling into operations-heavy enterprise clients
– Experience with SOC 2 or security-first product design in enterprise deployments
What This Role Is Not
This is not a role where you manage a large team and own a polished product process. Arvist is lean. You will be expected to do real work: write PRDs, get on calls with clients, review deployment configs, and be in the weeds on what is being built and why. The leadership is in the quality of your judgment and the clarity you create for the team, not in the size of your org.
Location
We are based in Chicago. We strongly prefer candidates who are in Chicago or willing to travel to Chicago regularly. This role requires face time with clients in warehouse and logistics facilities, and proximity matters for how we operate.
Why Arvist
– You will be a foundational leader at an AI company solving real problems in logistics and warehousing, industries that are just beginning to adopt this technology
– The product and technical decisions you make will define how the company scales
– Reports to the Founder and CEO and influence across commercial strategy, not just product execution
– Competitive base salary, meaningful equity, and milestone-linked upside tied to company growth
Salary
$90,000 - $140,000 per year
