About the Job

We’re hiring a Head of Product to own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and execution of an AI-native platform. This role blends traditional Head of Product responsibilities (end user discovery, roadmap ownership, cross-functional leadership) with deep accountability for Generative AI systems that sit at the core of the product experience.

You will be responsible not just for what we build, but how intelligence shows up in the product, how it learns, how it scales, and how it delivers real-world outcomes for users.

This is a builder role for someone who thrives at the intersection of product intuition, applied AI, and business impact. It requires a blend of deep technical expertise, solid coding abilities, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills to ensure the successful execution of our technology strategy.

About Aware Health

Nearly 50% of the workforce experiences pain or functional impairment related to musculoskeletal (MSK) or orthopedic conditions. These range from acute injuries like muscle strains and torn ligaments, to chronic, degenerative conditions like spinal stenosis and bone-on-bone arthritis. Too often, people with MSK conditions are misdiagnosed or funneled into passive, high-cost treatments including opioids, injections, and surgery. Yet both published research and Aware’s customer outcomes demonstrate that more than 90% of these expensive and risky interventions can be avoided through modern, evidence-based care delivered via telehealth. Aware addresses muscle, nerve, and joint pain while also building long-term resilience. By focusing on lifestyle factors alongside clinical care, Aware helps individuals not just recover—but thrive. While traditional systems are built to treat sickness, Aware identifies opportunity earlier, offering a patient-centered, wellness-oriented model that emphasizes prevention, empowerment, and hope.

Enterprise customers purchase Aware as a subscription benefit. Employees and covered family members use the platform to avoid unnecessary surgeries and reduce the downstream risk of chronic disease, receiving higher-quality care at a lower cost. For employers, this translates into up to 59% annual savings on MSK spend, with additional savings driven by preventing progression into chronic conditions. To date, Aware has consistently delivered savings that exceed subscription fees, contributing to 95% logo retention.

The product strategy is focused on three core objectives:

  • Identify members at highest risk of costly intervention or chronic progression.
  • Proactively engage those members before they enter the traditional care pathway.
  • Deliver clinically effective alternatives that prevent unnecessary surgery and long-term disease burden, generating measurable ROI.

AI powers each of these functions at scale, enabling Aware to move upmarket while maintaining outcomes and margin.

Product Leadership

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the entire platform
  • Translate customer problems into clear product bets, success metrics, and execution plans
  • Lead product discovery: user research, customer/member interviews, experimentation, and iteration
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Clinical/Domain experts, and GTM teams
  • Define and track product KPIs (activation, retention, outcomes, revenue impact) and subscription metrics (LTV, CAC efficiency, churn, etc)
  • Make high-conviction prioritization decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Create a mobile-first strategy for a B2B2C healthcare experience
  • Increase prodcut velocity by 2x while maintaining quality

Generative AI

  • Partner with VP of Engineering to define the Generative AI strategy across the product (LLMs, agents, copilots, workflows)
  • Define how AI augments or replaces traditional workflows in a safe, human-centered way
  • Help build evaluation frameworks to improve model accuracy, reliability, and performance over time
  • Establish feedback loops using real user interactions to continuously improve AI outputs
  • Balance automation with human-in-the-loop design where appropriate
  • Ensure AI systems are scalable, explainable, and aligned with user trust

Data Safety and Quality

  • Define success metrics for AI quality (accuracy, usefulness, hallucination rates, user trust)
  • Work with Legal/Compliance to ensure responsible AI use
  • Set standards for evaluation, monitoring, and iteration of AI systems in production

Company Leadership

  • Serve as a core member of the leadership team
  • Help shape company strategy, positioning, and long-term vision
  • Communicate product and AI strategy to board and investors
  • Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing product organization over time

Required

  • 8–12+ years in Product Management with senior leadership experience
  • Direct experience shipping AI-powered or ML-driven products in production
  • Strong UX intuition and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
  • Comfort making high-stakes decisions with imperfect information
  • Exceptional communication skills: written, verbal, and narrative

Strongly Preferred

  • Hands-on experience LLMs, prompt design, and AI orchestration
  • Experience in healthcare, MSK, working with payers, and/or regulated industries
  • Early stage startup product leadership experience (0-to-1 or growth stage)
  • Background working closely with clinicians, operators, or domain experts

What success looks like (12-18 months)

  • A clear, differentiated product vision that customers deeply resonate with
  • Create a clear moat between competitors for AI-powered MSK care
  • Guide build of AI systems that demonstrably improve engagement, clinical efficiency, and customer success efficiency while maintaining high quality care
  • Contribute to a high-performing mobile subscription experience that includes end users coming back for care (for repeat issues of other regions) and enterprises renewing (via product’s cost reduction/ROI)
  • A product organization that ships quickly, learns fast, and executes with clarity

Compensation: $185k+ year, with equity >2x base
