Y Combinator is the leading startup accelerator. Since 2005, YC has invested in over 4,000 companies, including Airbnb, Dropbox, Stripe, Reddit, Instacart, DoorDash, OpenAI and Coinbase. Today, YC has built the most powerful startup community in the world alongside the products and programs to support founders for the life of their company.

We are hiring a Full-Stack Product Engineer to join our small in-house software team. Working at YC is one of the best ways to learn about startups with everyone participating in programming -- dinners, talks, founder events, and more. You'll get a unique vantage point to learn about startups, and to write software that will help the future Airbnbs and Stripes of the world get off the ground.

We're a team of 10 full-stack product engineers and have a broad range of experiences from bigger companies like Meta and Google, as well as former YC founders ourselves. Our stack is pretty straightforward (Rails, React, Postgres), but the last three engineers have learned on the job. True to YC advice, our product engineers talk to our customers regularly (in our case, it's mostly founders) and ship fast. We also define our own roadmap. You won't be building software to scale to millions of users, but you'll be talking 1-1 with lots of founders to build stuff they need to help build and grow their companies, and that's a different kind of reward.

In particular, we're hiring for the team that helps founders and partners during the batch. This is an opportunity to help YC write software that solves the biggest problems facing our earliest companies and work closely with YC partners to improve their experience.

An unusual aspect of being on the YC software team is that you'll get full access to the YC program, founders and partners - from our bi-annual batch retreats in Sonoma to our famous batch dinners, where we host talks from our most famous founders most nights, right downstairs in our building. You'll learn the ins and outs of how YC works, and you'll get to know hundreds of startup founders. If you want to start a startup someday, working at YC would be an excellent jumping off point. In fact, we've already have seven people work on YC software and go on to start a YC company.

If working on YC's software team and helping great startups sounds interesting at all, please apply. Looking forward to hearing from you!
