Overview:

Backpack Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Revenue Cycle Operations to join our growing & thriving team. As a leader in the healthcare industry, we are dedicated to revolutionizing patient care through innovative solutions. The Associate Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations, compliance & risks management, credentialing, and revenue generation processes of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior management to create and implement strategies for both revenue cycle management and clinical operations that align with organizational goals. Drive initiatives for process optimization, revenue enhancement, and cost reduction through data-driven insights and best practices.
  • Manage and optimize revenue cycle operations, including billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement processes. Participate in budget planning and financial management for clinical operations, monitoring expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost savings or revenue generation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of revenue cycle specialists, credentialing specialists, and clinical operations staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective performance. Oversee external partner relationships, ensuring that services provided meet organizational standards and contribute to operational efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies, minimizing risk and enhancing operational integrity. Identify and mitigate risks within clinical operations, such as safety hazards, legal liabilities, and compliance issues.
  • Evaluate and implement revenue cycle management and credentialing systems and technologies to streamline processes and enhance revenue capture.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to foster strong relationships and achieve revenue cycle and clinical operations objectives.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and streamline processes within clinical operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing processes, including verifying insurance coverage, coding procedures correctly, and addressing any billing discrepancies or issues that arise.
  • Manage the credentialing process for healthcare providers, ensuring they meet all necessary qualifications and requirements to practice within the organization. Oversee payor contracting, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as finance, people strategy, and technology to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of goals and objectives.
  • Manage internal and external reports, ensuring accurate and timely data collection, analysis, and dissemination to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing, coding, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Proven track record of driving results, improving operational efficiencies, and achieving financial targets.
  • Proficiency in revenue cycle management software and analytical tools.
