Company

Birdstop is a San Francisco Bay Area remote sensing company using BVLOS drones and AI to protect national critical infrastructure. Fortune 500 companies in sectors ranging from energy to transportation to telecommunications rely on Birdstop systems to make mission critical decisions in real-time. Birdstop nodes sit in the field to deploy and command Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAV/UAS) to collect data on physical locations without requiring personnel onsite.

Role

The Junior Field Engineer position is knee-deep in Birdstop’s technology suite, executing on tasks including but not limited to operating UAVs, robotics, software, and data systems. This role interfaces not only with all aspects of Birdstop engineering, but also directly with client teams. The role will primarily be field deployed at client sites setting up and running live operations. Some of this time, this role will work independently. Other times, this role will work in close communication and collaboration with other engineers.

Candidate

We are looking for someone passionate about working at an early stage and fast moving organization. This role will often be put into unpredictable situations with unforeseen technical, regulatory, or logistical challenges. In some of these cases, it will be the first time facing this challenge for anyone at Birdstop or in the industry at large. The candidate must be able to meet unprecedented problems head on, make sound judgements, conduct disciplined diagnostics, and work well with clients.  Proactivity and speed of learning are valued equally to existing hard skills and experience. Passion for the mission of Birdstop is a must.
