(Entry Level, intern) Field Engineer
Birdstop
Company
Birdstop is an industrial automation startup based in the Bay Area and founded in 2018. We inspect and monitor field assets in energy, telecom, agriculture, and more, without personnel onsite. This is accomplished through a suite of robotics and software that turn off-the-shelf UAVs into automated data collectors. Our vision is to bring data at a scale and standardization never seen before to trillions of dollars in remote infrastructure and industrial assets globally.
Role
This role will be knee-deep in Birdstop’s ecosystem including but not limited to operating UAVs, robotics, software, and data systems. This role will interface not only with all of Birdstops engineers, the client’s engineers, and 3rd party technicians supporting our deployments. This role will also support the Lead Field Engineer in administrative tasks, project management, and any other tasks as the candidate transitions into a junior Field Engineer.
Candidate
We are looking for someone passionate about working at an early stage and fast-moving organization (think startup). This role will often be put into unpredictable situations with unforeseen technical challenges. The candidate must be able to meet challenges dead on, make sound judgments, conduct disciplined engineering diagnostics, and work well with client and/or 3rd party engineers. Proactivity and speed of learning are valued equally to existing hard skills, experience, and neutral communication. A passion for innovation and vision is a must.
