About Blossm:

In 2020, plants became the new “pets,” with millions of millennial and Gen Z plant enthusiasts taking up plants and gardening to support their mental health and build community. This new generation of plant parents doesn’t just want to buy plants at the big box store or nursery – they want to socialize around plants, share plant knowledge, and build community. We’re building Blossm (https://blossm.garden/) to make that possible.

Blossm is backed by Techstars as well as angel investors from Google, Meta, and Reddit. Our mission is to make it incredibly easy for plant enthusiasts to Buy, Share, and Care for their plants. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Social Media and Community Manager to join our team and help us nurture this blossm’ing community.

Position Overview:

As the Social Media and Community Manager at Blossm, you will play a key role in shaping our online presence and fostering an engaged and joyful community of plant enthusiasts. You will be responsible for crafting and executing our social media strategy, managing our social media channels, nurturing our online community, and coordinating and managing in-person and digital events.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with our brand identity and goals.
  2. Content Creation: Create and curate high-quality and engaging content for various social media platforms, including text, images, videos, and graphics.
  3. Community Building: Build and nurture a strong and engaged online community on our app, fostering meaningful conversations and interactions among plant enthusiasts.
  4. Audience Engagement: Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, messages, and mentions promptly, and engage with followers.
  5. Event Coordination: Coordinate and manage both in-person and digital events for our community, including workshops, webinars, plant swaps, and other relevant activities.
  6. Analytics and Reporting: Track key social media metrics, analyze performance, and generate reports to measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns and strategies, particularly in driving engagement on our website.
  7. Campaign Management: Plan and execute social media campaigns and promotions, as we work to develop new tactics to grow Blossm and promote sharing.
  8. Community Guidelines: Enforce community guidelines and policies to maintain a positive and respectful online environment within our plant-loving community.

  • Ability to get things done, take radical ownership of projects, and thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment, with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated interest in social media management, community building, and event coordination.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools and software, including video and image editing software.
  • Excitement for creating video content, testing it out in the wild, and learning rapidly.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their best practices or a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to interpret data and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Passion for plants and gardening is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
