Position : Looking for Automotive 12 V Systems Engineer for a pioneering EV Company

Location : Ambattur , Chennai

Boson is a Silicon Valley based startup focusing on farm automation. We are working on solving farming/agricultural automation challenges with our electric vehicles and computer vision. We are looking for an Automotive systems engineer to lead development and integration for 12V and other subsections of our automotive product. The chosen candidate will work in a fast paced startup environment to facilitate R&D and production by collaborating with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D and Manufacturing: Spearhead research and development initiatives for automotive subsystems, with a primary focus on the 12V system, body electronics, and wiring harnesses. Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept to development, integration, testing, and production.

• Design EE Systems: Take ownership of designing electrical and electronic systems, ensuring they meet safety, robustness, and functional requirements. Employ a holistic approach to system architecture to optimize performance.

• Vendor Identification and Relations: Identify and establish relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality components and materials for our automotive subsystems.

• Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including powertrain, mechanical, robotics, and production, to manage requirements effectively and continuously improve system designs.

• Schematic Design and Documentation: Generate detailed schematics and system block diagrams, and create comprehensive design, manufacturing, and service documentation. Conduct component and subsystem testing to meet system-level requirements and automotive standards and compliances.

• Test Planning and Reporting: Develop design, development, and test plans, and execute tests to validate subsystem performance. Prepare detailed test reports and documentation to track progress and ensure quality.

• Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risk factors in the system and implement design changes to mitigate and optimize subsystems, ensuring the highest level of safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience (Automotive system architecture, 12V system design and manufacturing)
• BS or MS in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or any equivalent qualification and evidence of competence.
• Excellent knowledge of automotive sub-systems and components and relevant automotive EMI/EMC standards
• Design and manufacturing knowledge of wiring harnesses
• Understanding of different electrical / electronics components and devices is a must.
• Knowledge of automotive and stationary energy storage system parts and components would be a great advantage.
• Exposure to supply chain eco-system for automotive and stationary energy storage systems would be a great advantage.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills

Notes: This role entails regular travel to Boson's test facilities, where you will conduct and oversee various testing procedures.
