About the Role

Cantaloupe Monterrey is seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring all food is cooked to perfection, and maintaining a clean and safe cooking environment. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen staff and front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our guests. The ideal candidate will have culinary experience, an eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting. We offer competitive hourly wages between $15.00 and $30.00, along with the opportunity to earn tips, making this an excellent position for both seasoned culinary professionals and those looking to advance their cooking career.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station throughout shifts
  • Monitor food stock and communicate with kitchen management regarding inventory needs
  • Ensure proper food handling and storage according to health and safety regulations
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth workflow
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries as needed
  • Contribute to the maintenance of kitchen equipment by performing routine cleaning and basic upkeep

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a line cook or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety regulations
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain composure
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

Nice to have

  • Experience with Mexican or Latin American cuisine
  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment maintenance
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Certification in food handling or culinary arts
