About the Role
MMR, a leading provider of instrumentation and electrical construction, maintenance, and technical services for over 30 years, is seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to join our Corporate Headquarters team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and coordinating BIM models including shop drawings and as-built documentation, ensuring integration with other trades and compliance with contract and code requirements. This role requires proficiency in MEP REVIT, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with project management, site personnel, and external stakeholders to resolve issues and optimize construction modeling. The successful BIM Coordinator will use their expertise to review and interpret complex electrical and construction documents, conduct site surveys, and maintain documentation logs to support project delivery across diverse industries including oil and gas, energy, and manufacturing sectors. What you'll do
- Design and coordinate 3D BIM models including coordination, shop drawings, and as-builts
- Assist with system design and model all content to integrate with other trades
- Prepare sketches indicating wiring and equipment location according to job specifications
- Review construction drawings for conflicts and ensure compliance with local codes
- Coordinate with project management and respond to RFIs to resolve identified issues
- Perform site surveys and field measurements to validate and update models
- Maintain logs for RFIs, transmittals, and drawings and manage submittal document accuracy
What we're looking for
- Proficiency in MEP REVIT software
- Experience as a BIM Coordinator, Detailer or Modeler
- Strong understanding of National Electrical Codes and contract documents
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and strong computer skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to recognize errors quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of general construction practices and electrical components
Nice to have
- Associate degree or higher in related field
- Experience working with point cloud data and survey points for as-built conditions
- Familiarity with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire alarm, and structural integration
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently
