About the Role
Conexus is seeking a proven and adaptable Fractional Chief Financial Officer to join our selective advisory group supporting a portfolio of high-growth, investor-backed companies. This role is ideal for a seasoned finance executive who thrives in dynamic environments, working across multiple clients to provide strategic financial leadership and hands-on operational expertise. You will collaborate directly with founders, CEOs, and private equity stakeholders, driving financial strategy, building scalable financial infrastructures, and ensuring compliance with evolving accounting standards. In this impactful contract position, you will operate in a flexible capacity—remote, hybrid, or client-site—as business needs dictate. Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding organizations through financial planning, reporting, audit readiness, and transformational growth phases, leveraging your deep knowledge in FP&A, technical accounting, and corporate finance best practices. What you'll do
- Serve as interim or part-time CFO acting as the lead financial executive for multiple client companies
- Provide strategic leadership in long-range financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Manage cash flow and capital strategy aligned with company objectives
- Oversee board and investor reporting ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Guide technical accounting compliance including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, and complex equity structures
- Lead audit readiness programs and act as liaison with external auditors
- Advise clients on ERP system selection and implementation including NetSuite and Oracle Oversee month-end close, internal controls, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting Support M&A due diligence and post-acquisition financial integration
- Collaborate with internal and external finance teams to enhance processes and reporting infrastructure
What we're looking for
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential and/or MBA degree 12+ years in senior financial leadership roles including CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent Experience at Big 4 or nationally recognized public accounting firms
- Proven track record in fractional, interim, or consulting CFO positions
- Deep understanding of GAAP, technical accounting standards, and financial reporting
- Expertise with FP&A processes to support operational decision-making
- Strong communication and executive-level stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
- Industry experience within SaaS, healthcare, manufacturing, or consumer products
- Familiarity with private equity-backed company environments
- Knowledge of multi-entity and international consolidation processes
- Experience with stock-based compensation and complex equity/debt financing ERP implementation experience in cloud financial systems such as Sage or Oracle NetSuite
