At Captain's Eye, we build an AI-powered video analytics platform used by dozens of shipping companies worldwide to make maritime operations safer, smarter, and more efficient.

We're looking for a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys building great software, mentoring talented engineers, and shaping technical decisions while staying close to the code.

You'll join a close-knit engineering team where collaboration comes naturally, ideas are shared openly, and everyone has a real voice. You'll work closely with our CTO and help shape our product, architecture, and engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Full-Stack development team.
• Design and build scalable backend services and modern web applications.
• Build software solutions for both Cloud and Onboard environments.
• Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to production.
• Drive architectural decisions and engineering best practices.
• Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Collaborate closely with Product, AI, and DevOps teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Full-Stack development experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading software development teams.
• Proven experience building AI-powered products or systems.
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React (preferred) or Angular, NestJS (or a similar framework), MySQL, MongoDB, Microservices, Kafka/MQTT, AWS, Docker, Git, and CI/CD.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
