About this Role
We’re looking for a skilled and client-focused Security Solutions Advisor to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients design, implement, and manage robust security and privacy programs.
You’ll be the trusted voice clients turn to, assessing their current security posture, and developing customized strategies that address both immediate risks and long-term security needs.

This is a remote position. While candidates across Canada are welcome to apply, preference will be given to those based in Nova Scotia.
What You’ll Do
- Security Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ security frameworks, infrastructure, and practices to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and gaps.
- Security Solutions Development: Design and recommend customized security solutions and controls based on clients’ specific environments, regulatory needs, and business objectives.
- Fractional CISO Program Delivery: Serve as a Fractional CISO for premium clients, providing ongoing strategic guidance, risk management, and compliance support.
- Regulatory and Compliance Advisory: Offer expertise on security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, CMMC) and provide practical steps for achieving compliance.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable policies, tasks, and control activities for clients, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Client Engagement & Reporting: Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and regular check-ins. Generate and present detailed reports on security assessments and recommendations.
- Continuous Improvement & Learning: Stay informed of the latest developments in cybersecurity threats, technologies, regulations, and frameworks to keep clients prepared for evolving risks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Carbide’s platform team and other departments (Customer Success, Sales, Product Development) to ensure a seamless client experience and support internal teams with your cybersecurity expertise.
- Content Development: Assist with the development of advisory templates and content, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality solutions across client engagements.
What you Bring
- Proven experience in cybersecurity advisory roles, ideally with a focus on information security, privacy consulting, or SaaS environments.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, CMMC).
- Experience developing and implementing cybersecurity solutions for businesses, with a focus on tailoring recommendations to client-specific needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex security challenges effectively.
Nice to Haves (But not required)
- Previous experience working with SMB clients and knowledge of their unique security challenges.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH) are highly valued.
- Bilingualism (English and French).
