About the Company:

CareerGenie is hiring on behalf of a venture-backed startup that’s reinventing how global industries fight counterfeiting. Leveraging cutting-edge ink detection technology and Digital Product Passports (DPPs), this early-stage team is building a platform to verify product authenticity across sectors like luxury fashion, pharmaceuticals, and consumer electronics.

With a mission to solve a $500B global problem, they’re now looking for a Senior Software Engineer to serve as their first technical hire - owning the architecture and delivery of a scalable, AI-powered solution targeting Fortune 500 clients.

Role Overview:

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll collaborate directly with the founder to build the company’s core platform from scratch. From AI-powered ink verification to blockchain-enabled product passports, you’ll lead full-stack development and cloud architecture to get the MVP ready for enterprise pilots in just a few months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build the Core Platform: Design and develop a full-stack solution (Python/Flask backend, JavaScript frontend) for QR scanning, product tracking, and DPP generation
• Lead AI/ML Integration: Implement image processing and object detection tools (e.g. OpenCV, YOLO) for ink-based counterfeit detection
• Architect Cloud Infrastructure: Set up a lean, serverless system on AWS using Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3
• Manage Data Pipelines: Build robust workflows to handle metadata, user data, and ML outputs
• Own the Stack: Drive technical decision-making and scale the MVP into a production-grade system
• Deliver Fast: Build and ship a demo-ready system to pitch to clients like Amazon, Nike, and LVMH

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Full-stack fluency in Python (Flask, SQLAlchemy) and JavaScript (React or similar)
• Proven AI/ML expertise in real-time video/image processing and object detection
• Cloud-native skills, especially with AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway)
• Strong data engineering background with tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Glue
• Experience with Flutter for mobile app development is a strong plus
• Startup experience preferred—someone who’s shipped MVPs in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communicator—able to bridge the gap between tech and business needs
