Position: Backend-focused Full-Stack Engineer

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with a backend focus to work closely with our frontend engineer and AI engineer. You’ll help us evolve our platform architecture, build APIs, manage databases, and ensure scalability as we grow. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of backend systems while remaining comfortable touching frontend code when needed.

We’re not looking for someone who expects a polished corporate environment—this is a startup role where speed, pragmatism, and problem-solving are critical.

What You’ll Do:

• Own backend development, building APIs, manage databases, and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with frontend and AI engineers to deliver features across the stack.
• Improve reliability and scalability of the platform in a high-growth environment.
• Balance building new functionality with managing technical debt.
• Own DevOps, supporting deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production.
• Contribute ideas for improving architecture, workflows, and developer experience.

What You Bring:

• Strong backend experience in the modern stack (Node.js/TypeScript, Python/FastAPI, Go, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with SQL/GraphQL databases and API design.
• Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure, containers and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React or similar) and willingness to contribute when needed.
• Problem-solving mindset—able to work through technical debt and propose pragmatic solutions.
• Previous experience in early-stage startups or environments where requirements evolve rapidly with customer feedback.
• Fluent in English; based in Prague or willing to relocate (exceptional EU-remote considered).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with real-time systems (WebSockets, streaming, backpressure) and Kafka or other event-streaming tools.
• Knowledge of workflow automation tools (e.g., n8n) or interest in integrating them.
• Exposure to real-time voice or audio processing applications.
• Knowledge of scaling systems.
