Alterya is an AI-powered fintech and threat intelligence team, empowering institutions to protect individuals from fraud transactions. We are currently looking for a Scam Threat Researcher to join our Data Team at Alterya. We’re looking for someone who constantly asks questions in order to find bigger and better answers. You have to be tirelessly looking to improve current methods and always doubting the status quo, be proactive and look for the best solutions for identified problems.

In this job, you'll:
Investigate different types of scams, understanding how they operate and how we can catch them, including defining technological solutions.
Research sources, from finding suitable data to defining how to obtain it.
Conduct research to understand how scams operate, both online and offline, and investigate the tactics and methods used by scammers.
Identify human and technical vulnerabilities exploited by scammers and suggest tools and techniques for detecting and preventing it.
Enhance our AI-based scam detection capabilities through innovative approaches and research findings.
Develop MVP (Minimum Viable Product) solutions for various types of scams, hand them over to the development team, and provide ongoing support throughout the development process
Writing reports on the status of the scam with clients. Writing reports on changes in the working methods of the scams around the world.
We’re looking for candidates who have:
5+ years of experience as a data analyst in Big Data environment
3+ years of experience as a Threat Researcher
Experience working with complex data pipelines
Strong SQL skills with experience in querying large data sets
Ability to write Python, JavaScript, and web HTML
Excellent analytical skills
Good interpersonal communication skills
Quick grasp of new data and data systems
