Why We Exist

Every morning, 11,000 Americans wake up and begin their first day of retirement. While retirement should be an exciting, empowering, and fulfilling part of one’s life, the reality today is that retirement brings along with it a fundamentally new set of challenges that make it an overwhelming time for many.

At Chapter, we believe that the current infrastructure for retirement is broken, and we’re on a mission to fix it. We’ve started by building industry leading technology to solve the first major obstacle in retirement: navigating Medicare (healthcare coverage for retirees over 65). Our products help seniors sign up, choose an insurance plan, and leverage their plan after they are enrolled. And, unlike most Medicare advisors who only search plans that pay them, Chapter searches every Medicare option nationwide. This allows us to find savings and benefits that others miss.

But our ambition doesn’t stop with Medicare — we seek to transform the way that Americans navigate and experience retirement. If this sounds exciting to you, we’d love to speak with you.

How You’ll Contribute to Our Mission

Our team of internal Medicare Advisors uses our proprietary technology to find the best Medicare plan for any senior who speaks with us - searching across all 25,000+ Medicare plans, across all insurance carriers. Critical to this work is ensuring that our advisors have the right licenses and appointments to enroll seniors in Medicare plans.

Chapter is looking for a Licensing Specialist Contractor to join our advisory team. As a Licensing Specialist Contractor, you will be responsible for company-wide licensing and contracting of employees so that they can help our members understand and enroll in the best insurance plan that fits their needs. You will play a key role in the organization helping to ensure we are compliant (something we take very seriously) with ever-changing local and federal regulations, and helping maintain advisor documentation within the licensing system (including updating licenses and appointments).

What You’ll Do

  • Manage Medicare Advisor new hire onboarding, guiding new hires in navigating the Medicare licensing process, completing ongoing education, and using Chapter tools and systems
  • Coordinate with applicants, state agencies, carriers, and the advisory operations team to ensure timely and efficient license acquisition
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all of the different states and careers
  • Maintain records, compile information, and submit required forms in order to advisors licenses and ready-to-sell
  • Ensure advisors remain in compliance with government regulations
  • Provide excellent service to internal departments and external carrier partners
  • Quickly adapt to new state regulations and carrier requirements
  • Utilize internal and external tooling

About You

  • 2+ years Medicare licensing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new information and apply learnings
  • Excellent organizational skills (including time management and ability to manage high-volume email correspondence) and detail orientation
  • High self-motivation, ability to accomplish goals and meet deadlines independently
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet goals and deadlines for quality and productivity
  • Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across and outside the organization to support clinical operations, interacting with clinicians, executives, clients, and others
