About the Role

As a Senior Full Stack Web Developer, you will work with the engineering team responsible for designing, building, and scaling the core payment infrastructure and APIs that power Chimoney. You will be instrumental in architecting a highly scalable, performant, and reliable platform.
Crucially, you will also own the infrastructure and deployment pipelines, ensuring our systems are robust, automated, and secure from development through to production. Your leadership and technical expertise will directly shape the future of our product.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our core backend services and APIs.
• Architect and implement scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems on cloud infrastructure.
• Design, own, and improve our CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, safe, and automated releases.
• Manage and provision cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.
• Implement and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high availability and proactive issue resolution.
• Work with a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and DevOps best practices.
• Define and enforce best practices for coding standards, testing, and deployment.
• Drive performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of our applications and infrastructure.

Qualifications

A Senior Software Engineer at Chimoney typically has 7+ years of experience as a developer.

Experience and skills that are important for success in this role:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading, managing, and mentoring a technical team.
• Expert proficiency in Node.js
• Deep experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and hands-on experience with their core services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC).
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
• Solid experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK Stack).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of system design, data structures, and networking.
