Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC) is seeking a part-time, non-tenured Head Baseball Coach to lead the college’s baseball team and teach Kinesiology-Athletic classes. The successful candidate will report to the Athletics Director and be responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and directing a successful Community College program. **Responsibilities:**
• Coach and lead the b

• Recruit and manage student-athletes
• Develop and implement game plans and strategies
• Manage team travel and logistics
• Oversee budget and financial management
• Engage in public relations and marketing efforts
• Collaborate with college administration and other coaches
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director
• *Qualifications:**
• Bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time professional experience, or
• Associate’s degree and six years of full-time professional experience
• A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of district faculty, staff, and students
• Eligibility Requirement: COVID 19 Vaccination
• *Desirable Qualifications:**
• Educational Background: Degrees in Education, Physical Education, Exercise Sciences, or Kinesiology
• Coaching Experience: Prior experience in coaching within a college environment
• Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exceptional skills in interacting and communicating with diverse groups
• Program Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of all facets of the specified sports program
• Recruitment Expertise: Proficient in athletic recruitment methods and techniques
• Financial Management: Skills in budget preparation and fiscal management
• Leadership in Athletics: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor student-athletes
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with 3C2A regulations and guidelines
• *Benefits:**
• 10-standard teaching hours paid at the contractual hourly rate during the season of competition, plus a $17,900 stipend for out-of-class activities
• Playoff Bonus: Coaches are paid $839 per week their team is in the playoffs
• Flexible scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Curriculum Development: Participate in curriculum development and other duties aligned with part-time faculty responsibilities
• Field Maintenance: Maintenance and preparation of the playing field
• Other Athletic-Related Duties: Perform additional athletic-related tasks as assigned by the Athletics Director
