Overview: As a Volleyball Coach for Chicago Infinity, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young athletes by providing them with coaching, mentorship, and opportunities for personal growth. You will play a vital role in promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game of soccer.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate soccer training sessions that focus on skill development, tactical understanding, physical fitness, and overall player development.

Provide guidance, instruction, and feedback to players during practices and games, helping them improve their soccer skills, technique, and understanding of the game.

Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes teamwork, respect, discipline, and fair play among players, coaches, and parents/guardians.

Plan and organize team participation in local leagues, tournaments, and friendly matches, coordinating logistics such as registration, transportation, and scheduling.

Encourage players to set personal and team goals, and assist them in developing plans to achieve those goals both on and off the field.

Serve as a mentor and role model to players, helping to instill values such as sportsmanship, leadership, and perseverance.

Collaborate with assistant coaches, volunteers, and parents/guardians to ensure effective communication, teamwork, and support for the team.

Develop strong relationships with players’ families, maintaining regular communication to provide updates on team activities, schedules, and player progress.

Organize and lead team-building activities, community service initiatives, and educational workshops to promote holistic development among players.

Adhere to the policies and guidelines set forth by the non-profit organization, including player eligibility, safety protocols, and code of conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Experience playing Volleyball and/or coaching at the youth level, with a strong understanding of the game’s fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
  • Enthusiasm for working with youth in an urban setting, displaying empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with players, parents/guardians, volunteers, and the organization’s leadership.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment that supports and motivates players of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage practice schedules, game schedules, and administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge of injury prevention, first aid, and basic sports nutrition is desirable.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and any necessary certifications required by the non-profit organization.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and dedication to promoting the overall well-being and development of the players.
  • Flexibility with scheduling, as practices and games may occur during evenings and weekends.
