Head Swim Team Coach
Hours 35/Week
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Head Swim Team Coach oversees and directs
the swim team as well the supervision of the assistant swim coaches.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
● Maintaining a high level of communication with fellow coaches
● Planning events (competitive and social)
● Completing meet entries and result
● Seasonal scheduling (with Director approval)
● Planning program capacities
● Must be able to answer all questions pertaining to all levels of the swim
● Must be knowledgeable in all areas of aquatics relating to the JCC
● Assists with the development, organization, and implementation of high-quality aquatics
programs.
Skills, Education, and Experience:
● Must be at least 18 years of age
● Related experience in administration, lifeguarding, and swim instruction preferred
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
● Previous competitive coaching experience/participation is required
● Knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines of Westchester Fairfield Swim League
and USA Swimming
● Requires ability to professionally and effectively communicate with members, staff and
supervisors; maintain confidentiality and exchange accurate information
● Requires ability to effectively interact with, lead, and motivate members who have a
variety of abilities and needs
● Must demonstrate initiative, strong leadership and communication skills, and have the
ability to provide guidance to staff and volunteers with a variety of educational and
experiential backgrounds
● Strong administrative, organizational, and computer skills are required
● Knowledge of Hy-Tek swimming software is preferred
● Certifications in the following:
○ CPR
○ Lifeguard Training
○ Safety for Swim Coaches

Physical Requirements
Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion
assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights. Required to remain alert to dangerous
situations while sitting, standing or walking for various lengths of time
