A Game Day Operator provides that support in ensuring all operations for game day are set up and run smoothly.

About the Role

What You’ll Do

The role of a Game Day Operator comes with responsibilities in setting up for, and managing all game day events for the Avenues Athletics program.

Roles and Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Set up of all home games (in the Avenues gym) including team chairs, scoreboard, spectators areas, music, necessary signs and roped off areas
• Greeting opponents to gym or bringing to team room
• Sitting at score table to maintain the score book and/or game clock/score
• Ensuring there is sufficient coverage/support at home games
• Streaming on Avenues Athletics Instagram throughout the event (before game/half time/after game/time outs – whenever is possible)
• Posting results and scores on Instagram
• Collecting scores and providing that information on master score database
• Working in partnership with Equipment manager

What You’ll Bring

Operator will bring all or most of the following:

• Understand the scoring system for basketball and volleyball and able to keep score in the scorebook
• Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the sport, with special consideration given to those having experience with the desired age category
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work well with student athletes, parents, faculty/staff and the athletics department
• Enthusiasm, commitment, patience, and a passion for teaching the game are essential to this position
• Ability to work during required hours anywhere between 3:30pm – 8pm and during our two Aviator Classic tournaments held on Saturday

Game Schedule:

Games occur during three seasons throughout the school year.

• Fall Season: Volleyball – Wednesday September 11th – Monday November 4th, 2023
• Winter Season: Basketball – Tuesday November 12th – February 23rd, 2024
• Spring Season: Volleyball – Wednesday April 2nd – Monday May 19th, 2024
• 3:45pm and lasts till 7pm during fall season and sometimes 8pm winter season

Salary:

Please note that this is a part time and seasonal position with an hourly rate of $18 per hour.
