Head Soccer Coach & Zone Director

On-Field Responsibilities:
• Head Coach of 2/3 teams
• Lead and coach travel, recreation and other youth level soccer programs
• Plan fun, fulfilling and educational sessions for all participants and explain the different principles and techniques of Soccer
• Work with other coaches and managers to ensure the smooth running of all programs’
• Manage your performance environment on and off the field by communicating 1x a week via email to each team.
• Complete annual player evaluations for all teams
Zone Director Responsibilities
• *
Oversee coach training session and game day coaching for Zone
• Evaluate and collaborate with Directors on ongoing player
development needs, issues, and movement.
• Develop and implement a player evaluation process that includes:
written assessments, feedback to players and parents, and recommendations for individual development; for your teams and assist coaches in your zone with evaluations.
• Supervise the tryout process, ensuring that club policies are followed and that all players who participate are given an opportunity to demonstrate their skills. Other duties may be assigned from time-to- time
• Assist all zone teams and coaches at games, training sessions, and major events.
• Recruit, retain and assign Development and Competitive coaches;
• Continue to build and development already in place annual Technical
Plan that aligns with the Club’s Strategic Plan and Values
• Work closely with admin staff to maintain current files on players,
coaches and staff;
• Establish technical staff requirements to support programming
• Implement and conduct performance reviews, track progress of
Performance Metrics throughout the year.
• Develop and implement a coach evaluation process that includes:
written assessments, interviews and feedback, specific
recommendations for further development and follow-up
• Hiring and firing of coaches / as well as support for the coaching
staff when dealing with challenges
• Assist the Directors with staffing of programs, training sessions,
games, etc.
• Further our mission / implement our vision / mission / values
• Assist in team selection – across programs – main objective is to
ensure players are placed in the right environment. The needs of players change and we need to ensure that we monitor the development of the players accordingly. If / when players are struggling or doing well and need to be exposed to a different environment this needs to be managed accordingly.
• Communication with membership – via newsletter or emails
USSF C license or higher and at least 5 years experience in youth soccer
