We are looking for a JV-Grey Basketball Assistant Coach. Ideal candidate has some coaching experience before and has a knowledge of drills that they can execute during practices — Looking for a proactive, communicative coach who has experience building positive relationships with student-athletes and can support and lead skills training with the team
JV-Grey team was NYCAL league champions two years ago — competitive program

Schedule:

• Team meets 4-5 days/week (varying), includes practices and games
• 1.5 or 2-hour practices fall within 3:30-7:30pm timeframe
• Games start at 4pm or 5:30pm
• Coaches are required to ride bus to/from Calhoun with team for any off-site practices and games
• Some practices are off-site (135th Street YMCA)
• Season: 10/29 to 2/10
• Comp: $4,500

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and guide groups of young children in sports activities, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

2. Introduce innovative techniques and drills during practice sessions to enhance players’ skills.

3. Coach players on the fundamentals of the sport, providing constructive feedback and guidance.

4. Serve as a mentor and positive role model for young athletes, promoting character development and sportsmanship.

5. Ensure punctuality and efficient check-in of students for classes and camps.

6. Manage classroom settings effectively, demonstrating excellent time and behavior management skills.
