Position summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic gymnastics instructor, specifically for our Parent-and-Me class, who will work 18 months to 2+ years olds. The below job description is for our recreational classes, but reflects the gymnastics of our program.

Responsibilities

· Teach skills at each apparatus (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, parallel bars, floor, tumble track, floor, and trampoline and tumble trak), following proper progressions set in place by Program Director

· Monitor gymnastics activities of all participants, intervening to correct technique where necessary

· Observe and spot athletes as they perform on various apparatus

· Prepare lesson plans for recreational classes in conjunction with Program Director

· Complete student attendance, assessments, and timesheets

· Maintain facility cleanliness, includes bathrooms, sitting area, and equipment

· Create and maintain positive relationships with participants, aiming to encourage them in a positive attitude

· Participate in coaching clinics and other training activities

· Instill positive values in our students that will help them beyond gymnastics

Qualifications

· Ability to work with children of all ages

· Effective communication skills with participants, parents, and other coaches

· Be a team player, must work well with others

· Show initiative as well as leadership skills

· Ability to think creatively and with an open mind

· Gymnastics experience is preferred, but not required

About us: Founded in 1990, Straddles Gymnastics provides a fun environment for kids aged 18 months to 18 years old to experience the sports of gymnastics. We offer weekly recreational classes and open gyms, run a competitive program, and host birthday parties and summer camps. We are located right by in Croton, a three minute walk from the Croton-Harmon Metro North train station, and are easily accessible from the neighboring towns of Croton, Ossining, Briarcliff, Montrose, Buchanan, and Verplank and Millwood. Our 3,500 square foot facility features a multitude of training equipment and a party room, and has ample parking.
