Job Title: Youth Soccer Coach (After-School Enrichment Program)

Location: San Mateo, CA

Salary: $20 – $25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:15 PM – 5:15 PM (subject to change with Daylight Saving Time adjustments); Guaranteed 3 hours per day, per site.

Overview: AYSO is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Youth Soccer Coaches to lead our after-school enrichment soccer programs. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are passionate about soccer and enjoy working with children from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to 6th grade. Our coaches are crucial in delivering engaging and developmental soccer sessions that not only teach soccer skills but also foster teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship among young athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and deliver fun and educational soccer sessions according to the program’s curriculum.
• Engage children of varying skill levels, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment that promotes learning and growth.
• Monitor the progress of students and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their soccer skills.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practice sessions.
• Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and program coordinators regarding program updates, student progress, and other relevant matters.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down practice equipment.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated passion for soccer with a solid understanding of the game.
• Prior experience coaching soccer, especially at the youth level, is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Experience working with elementary or middle school students is a plus.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are advantageous but not required.
• Must pass a background check as a condition of employment.
