Description of Responsibilities:

This is a part-time contract position where the coach will oversee all aspects of practice, training, and competition for one youth baseball team between 8U-13U in Long Island, NY.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop Practice Plans: Create engaging practice plans and drills to enhance players’ skills and execute training sessions 1 -3 times a week, lasting 1.5-2 hours per session.
• Instruct Players: Teach hitting, throwing, athleticism, and mindset techniques both individually and in group settings.
• Provide Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to players to help improve their performance.
• Promote Team Environment: Foster a positive and supportive team environment for all players.

Required Skills and Physical Requirements:

• Must have played or currently playing baseball at the collegiate level.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities to manage and motivate young athletes.
• Familiarity with all current technical baseball hitting and throwing mechanics.
• Experience in team tryouts and player selection.
• Ability to develop and execute daily practice plans and evaluate player performance.
• Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and club management.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, and withstand various weather conditions during outdoor activities.
• Commitment to promoting the goals and objectives of the New York Scorpions, including youth character development through sports.

Bonus Experience:

• Background in exercise science, biomechanics, nutrition, or psychology is a plus.

Compensation:

• Compensation will be negotiated based on experience and the duration of the contract.
• This position is classified as an independent contractor (1099).
