Position Overview

The Head Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Raiders’ football operations, including developing a championship-caliber team, managing coaching staff, and fostering a culture of accountability, discipline, and performance. The role requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the game at the professional level.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Inspire and lead players and coaching staff to perform at their highest potential.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive game strategy that aligns with the Raiders’ vision and goals.
• Game Planning and Execution:
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of game plans, ensuring adaptability to opponents and in-game situations.
  • Lead the team during practices, games, and team meetings.
• Staff Management:
  • Hire, manage, and mentor assistant coaches and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment among the coaching staff.
• Player Development:
  • Evaluate and develop player talent, emphasizing skill improvement, teamwork, and football IQ.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to identify player needs and contribute to roster decisions.
• Culture and Accountability:
  • Establish and uphold a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to team and league policies and standards.
• Media and Public Relations:
  • Represent the Raiders positively in media appearances and community events.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including ownership, fans, and media.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of coaching experience at the NFL or high-level collegiate level.
  • Previous head coaching experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge & Skills:
  • Deep understanding of NFL rules, regulations, and trends.
  • Expertise in game strategy, player development, and team management.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Personal Attributes:
  • High level of professionalism, work ethic, and resilience.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to the demands of the NFL.
