Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Varsity Badminton Head Coach to lead our team during the upcoming spring season. The ideal candidate will have substantial playing and coaching experience, a passion for developing student-athletes, and the ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and lead all varsity badminton practices and matches.
- Develop players’ technical skills, strategic understanding, and sportsmanship.
- Create and execute training plans to prepare the team for a successful season.
- Foster a team environment that values respect, collaboration, and commitment.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Coordinate game-day logistics, including travel and lineup decisions.
- Serve as a role model for student-athletes, emphasizing personal growth alongside athletic development.
Schedule:
- Practices:
- Monday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Matches: Scheduled throughout the season, with occasional weekend commitments.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in playing badminton at a competitive level (collegiate or equivalent preferred).
- Proven coaching experience, preferably as a head coach, with a successful track record.
- Strong knowledge of badminton rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for mentoring and inspiring young athletes.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
