At Kidokinetics, we introduce children (ages 1-8) to a variety of sports in a fun, engaging, and non-competitive way, teaching them the fundamentals of movement and athletics. We conduct programs at schools, daycares, parks, and community centers throughout the North Shore neighborhoods of Chicago (Rogers Park, Irving Park, Albany Park, Skokie, Lincolnwood, Evanston, Glenview, Morton Grove, Northbrook, Highland Park, etc.).

As the Head Coach, you will oversee all coaching operations in the Chicago region, ensuring high-quality program delivery while mentoring and managing a team of youth sports instructors. You will play a pivotal role in the success of our programs by leading sessions, training new coaches, coordinating schedules, and maintaining strong relationships with schools, parents, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

Lead & Coach

  • Conduct high-energy, engaging sports classes for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-age children.
  • Implement the Kidokinetics curriculum, ensuring all sessions are fun, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Provide individualized attention and feedback to help children develop skills, coordination, and confidence.

Program Leadership & Quality Control

  • Serve as the lead coach and primary point of contact for all sports programs in the Chicago region.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality coaching experience across all locations.
  • Observe, mentor, and provide feedback to assistant coaches to ensure adherence to the Kidokinetics coaching philosophy.
  • Assist in curriculum enhancements and session planning to improve the overall program.

Coach Development & Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and mentor part-time coaches to build a strong coaching team.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to maintain coaching quality and consistency.
  • Create a positive team culture that fosters enthusiasm, collaboration, and professional growth.

Logistics & Program Coordination

  • Oversee class scheduling and coach assignments to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Work closely with schools, community centers, and daycare directors to ensure program success.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and manage operational needs, such as equipment distribution.

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Communicate with parents, providing updates on class progress and student development.
  • Address any concerns or feedback to continuously improve program quality.
  • Represent Kidokinetics Chicago in the community by attending events and promoting our programs.

Additional requirements: Valid driver’s license. must undergo a background check, including criminal record and child abuse clearance, to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and considered for employment.

Growth Prospects: Ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children who will be able to coach initially. As we grow and expand in the area, they will have an option to transition to more of a managerial/leadership role handling more of the day to day operations, marketing, scheduling, social media, networking and continuing to grow the business. We are looking for someone who will take initiative, is self-motivated and willing to work hard as we increase Kidokinetics presence in the Chicago area.
