The YMCA of South Florida is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Legacy Travel Basketball Coach. This position involves planning, teaching, and supervising various youth sports programs for children aged 3-17. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for sports, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate youth sports programs that promote physical activity, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
• Collaborate with the Program Director to coordinate and promote youth sports throughout the community.
• Plan and supervise programs that align with the YMCA’s core values, policies, and safety procedures.
• Work closely with volunteers to train and assist them in coaching youth sports.
• Attend YMCA functions such as staff meetings and program events.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two or more years of experience participating in or teaching youth sports preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation.
