Program Overview

The Miami Marlins Foundation makes an impact by creating opportunities for youth to stay active, achieve academic success, and build leadership skills. Our wellness programs address barriers that students face with academic success, food insecurity, healthy eating habits, and fitness.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as coach to teach the fundamentals of baseball and lead a Marlins Jr. RBI team in the tee ball, coach pitch, and/or kids pitch divisions.
• Work with fellow coaches to develop practice plans for two practices per week to help players strengthen individual skills and team cohesiveness, while also developing life skills and intangibles necessary for team sports.
• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Jr. RBI program with community partners including communication with parents, assistance with online registration on League Apps, collection of paperwork, and distribution of uniforms and equipment.

Eligibility & Qualifications

• AmeriCorps is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have, or be working towards High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must have access to reliable transportation.
• Successful completion of criminal history background checks.
• Ability to perform all job requirements satisfactorily.
