Key Responsibilities:

The Role

• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects, encouraging potential athletes to participate in the sport.
• Assesses player skills and assigns team positions.
• Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, on the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players during competition and practice to identify areas for improvement.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior, providing proper supervision at all times.
• Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
• Conferences with parents/guardians as necessary regarding athletic performance.
• Ensures adherence to state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
• Maintains sports-like behavior and conducts oneself appropriately towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Carefully manages equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Promotes nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically a school setting or outdoors, with moderate to loud noise levels present.
