Full job description
- Work outdoors with young campers and connect with others who have similar interests
- Share knowledge of baseball/softball with campers and enhance their Giants Camps experience
- Make a positive difference in the lives of our youth
- Help young people develop a love of the game and the San Francisco Giants
- Participate in our end-of-summer rally at Oracle Park
- Is an experienced leader, self-starter, and excellent communicator
- Is passionate about creating a positive impact on the lives of children, families, coaches, and the local community
- Has experience working with children ages 4-13
- Has experience coaching and/or playing baseball/softball at a high school level or higher
- Has a passion for teaching and providing quality leadership in an engaging and energetic way
- Is able to connect with children both one-on-one and in a group setting
- Is acutely aware of both physical and emotional safety, coupled with the ability to problem-solve in real time
- Leads by example with strong character, integrity, and a positive attitude
- Is dependable and reliable; someone we can count on to be there, no matter what.
- Thrives on providing candid feedback to his or her team members, helping them grow both personally and professionally
- Knows how to have a lot of fun!!
- Ensure a safe camp environment for all campers
- Manage and motivate campers to have fun each day of camp
- Execute San Francisco Giants Baseball Camps Curriculum daily, under the direction of the Site Director
- Provide feedback and suggestions during drills and games
- Highlight teachable moments for campers and coaches to learn and grow from
- Work together with other team members from various backgrounds to uphold the Giants Baseball Camps stellar reputation
- Be prepared to make a 10 week commitment Monday-Friday for approximately eight hours per day
- Giants Baseball & Softball Camps run every week from June 9, 2025 to August 15, 2025
- Be prepared to travel to each site with reliable transportation of your own
- Be able to pass a comprehensive background screening
- Be a polished professional with demonstrated leadership ability
- At times be responsible for driving a rented cargo van & having a safe space to park it (Giants Baseball & Softball Camps covers the cost of fuel for the van associated with work/camp use only.)
- At a minimum, you must be familiar with the basic fundamentals of baseball
- Have at least one year of experience managing a group of people in a formal setting
- Be ready to have fun and not take yourself too seriously
