About the position
Super Soccer Stars is the premier children’s sports organization in the nation, specializing in youth soccer education for over 24 years. We provide year-round, seasonal soccer classes and camps for children ages 1-10 years, ranging from Parent & Me classes to fundamental skills classes. Our programs are delivered in a non-competitive, educational, and nurturing environment, supported by a curriculum developed by early childhood and youth soccer experts. Our dynamic coaches utilize positive reinforcement and individualized attention to build self-confidence in every child. With multiple locations across the Bay Area, including San Francisco, East Bay, North Bay, South Bay, and Peninsula, Soccer Stars aims to make a lasting positive impact on young athletes and their families. We are currently seeking a talented and energetic Coaching Manager to lead and manage our coaching team. This full-time position is ideal for an organized, personable individual with exceptional communication skills. The Coaching Manager will oversee the recruitment, training, and development of our coaches, ensuring the highest quality of instruction and program delivery. This role requires hands-on leadership, including stepping in to coach as needed, and consistent interaction with coaches, staff, and management. The Coaching Manager will ensure cohesion and efficiency by closely collaborating with the staffing department and providing oversight for the coaching department.
Responsibilities
- Identify, screen, interview, and onboard new coaches.
- Act as an ambassador for the program, mentoring and guiding the coaching team.
- Supervise and evaluate educators and coaches through regular written reviews to ensure program quality.
- Create, implement, and lead a comprehensive staff training program.
- Oversee equipment distribution and maintain inventory.
- Liaise with parents and locations to gather feedback on staff performance and program content.
- Assist in the scheduling and coordination of coaching staff to ensure classes run smoothly.
- Ensure all coaches maintain required clearances, certifications, and adhere to program standards.
- Step into a coaching role as needed to cover absences or lead demonstrations.
- Foster a positive, non-competitive environment that emphasizes skill development and teamwork.
Requirements
- Must be available to work in person, with required availability on Saturdays and Sundays 7:30 – 4:30pm.
- Experience in a supervisory position, preferably in a sports or educational setting.
- Experience managing and developing staff, with a strong understanding of curriculum implementation.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, and staff.
- Reliable transportation to and from class locations across the San Francisco Bay Area.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in soccer coaching or a related field.
- Background in early childhood education or child development.
- Aptitude for preparing and delivering training to groups.
- Familiarity with staffing and scheduling systems is a major plus.
- Proficiency in project management and communication platforms.
