- Demonstrates proficiency in effective teaching techniques and subject knowledge relevant to the teaching and coaching role

- Develop and implement a plan for the entire boys lacrosse program (varsity, junior varsity and Middle School), including short- and long-term goals for success on and off the field.
- Build and sustain a competitive varsity team that reflects the school’s tradition of excellence and contributes to its legacy of producing well-rounded student-athletes.
- Recruit, mentor and retain a skilled coaching staff dedicated to advancing the program’s and the school’s goals.
- Foster the academic, athletic and personal growth of student-athletes, ensuring that they embody the qualities of leadership, discipline and integrity while instilling a love for the game.
- Oversee all day-to-day facets, including (but not limited to) scheduling, statistics, equipment issue and ordering.
- Collaborate with the Director of Athletics on hiring, retention, evaluation and professional development of boys lacrosse coaching staff.
- Schedule and organize practice sessions for Upper School boys lacrosse teams.
- Partner with families of players wishing to be more competitive on summer lacrosse camp/clinic/club selections; work closely with the Office of College Counseling in the recruitment/placement of players in NCAA lacrosse programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree with major or minor in Physical Education and/or experience in Physical Education
- Advanced degrees are welcomed, encouraged and often very helpful
- Committed experience to teaching and coaching
- Ability to lead Upper School boys lacrosse (Grades 9-12)
- Support the Middle School lacrosse program (Grades 6-8)
- Offer skill sessions/on-campus lacrosse opportunities for Lower School students (Grades 1-5)
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time during practices and games.
- Able to squat, stoop, kneel, reach above the head, reach forward and repeat the same hand motion often.
- Coaching in all weather extremes, including heat, cold, rain and/or snow.
- Long hours during the competitive season, including evenings and weekends.
- Regular office tasks and duties.
