About the position
The Upper School Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach position at Pace Academy is a part-time role focused on supporting the development and coaching of the boys’ lacrosse program for students in grades 9-12. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach. The role is designed for the late winter and spring season, with work hours typically scheduled from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday, along with Saturday morning commitments for practices and/or games. All coaching staff are employed on an annual basis, with continued employment contingent upon performance reviews conducted by the Director of Athletics and the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach. As an assistant coach, you will work closely with the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach to support various aspects of the lacrosse program, including program development, training, and coaching team members. It is essential for the assistant coach to adhere to the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and the Georgia High School Athletics (GHSA). The position requires a strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and effective communication with players, parents, and the athletic department. The assistant coach will also be responsible for organizing practice sessions and representing Pace Academy in a professional manner, promoting good sportsmanship throughout the program.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach in various aspects of the lacrosse program.
- Encourage, train, and coach participants of the Upper School lacrosse program.
- Collaborate with the varsity lacrosse coach as needed.
- Organize practice sessions for the team.
- Represent Pace Academy and the lacrosse program professionally and uphold good sportsmanship.

- Strong commitment to the student-athlete concept.
- Previous coaching experience.
- Effective leadership, coaching, and recruiting skills.
- Good communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department.
