Coaching Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced coach to lead our Varsity Boys Basketball team. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will be responsible for developing the skills of our young athletes while promoting a positive team culture.

Job Responsibilities

* Plan and direct team practices and games* Develop and implement effective coaching strategies to improve player performance* Maintain accurate records and reports of team activities and athlete progress* Establish and maintain positive relationships with athletes, parents, and school staff* Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives* Develop and deliver lesson plans and coaching sessions* Assess and evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback* Model good sportsmanship behavior and promote a positive team culture*

Coaching Requirements

* 2-3 years of high school or club basketball coaching experience required* High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)* Valid CA license (Class C) and current insurance coverage* Safe driving record (will be asked to provide a DMV report)* Ability to follow and uphold school policies and mission statement* Familiarity with the rules and regulations of the sports they are assigned to coach* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively via phone* Ability to work independently and within a small team* Ability to coach athletes of different skill levels* Access to reliable transportation throughout the area*
