About the position

The Baseball Center NYC (TBCNYC) is dedicated to fostering a positive environment for players of all ages and skill levels, focusing on their development both on and off the field. The mission of TBCNYC is to cultivate quality recreational, travel ball, and high school baseball players through well-structured practice plans and a strong belief in the players’ potential. The organization expects its staff to exemplify punctuality, preparedness, and the behaviors necessary for success in baseball. As an Instructor & Coach at TBCNYC, you will be responsible for providing private, group, and team baseball instruction in alignment with the center’s mission and business strategy. This role involves designing, documenting, and presenting practice plans, game day rosters, and depth charts, as well as creating individual profiles for private lessons. Clear communication of practice and game details with assigned teams and clients is essential. You may also assume the role of Head or Assistant Coach for any team, which includes leading practices and games or tournaments. In addition to coaching responsibilities, you will assist in maintaining the TBCNYC facility, which includes tasks such as keeping the coaches’ lounge clean, setting up and cleaning the training cage, and managing pro-shop sales and inventory. You will also play a role in recruiting and providing instruction to players in the NYC Stars “Farm System” and the NYC Rising Stars Travel Prep Program. Adherence to TBCNYC schedules is crucial, and you should be prepared for potential travel within the Tri-State and East Coast regions, as well as weekend shifts based on facility and league assignments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is required, along with familiarity with tools like Blast Motion, Hit Trax, and Hudl Technique. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with at least two years of coaching experience in recreational, travel, or middle/high school baseball.

Responsibilities

  • Provide private, group, and team baseball instruction in alignment with TBCNYC’s mission.
  • Design, document, and present practice plans, game day rosters, and depth charts.
  • Communicate clear and precise practice and game details with assigned teams and clients.
  • Assume the position of Head or Assistant Coach for any team at any time, including practices and games/tournaments.
  • Assist or lead activities required to maintain TBCNYC’s facility, including cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist or lead activities for any TBCNYC program, lesson, and/or camp.
  • Recruit and offer insight/instruction to players in the NYC Stars ‘Farm System’ and the NYC Rising Stars Travel Prep Program.
  • Adhere to TBCNYC schedules, being prompt and prepared for each practice, game, lesson, and/or camp.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two plus years of coaching experience for recreational, travel, or middle/high school baseball.
  • Current proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Past use and understanding of Blast Motion, Hit Trax, and/or Hudl Technique.

Benefits
