Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach

North Shore Shore Country Day School in Winnetka is currently looking for a Head Girls Volleyball Coach to lead our program in the fall of 2025. Practices begin on August 11th and our season continues through the IHSA State Series in late October and early November.
We have two levels of High School Girls Volleyball: a Varsity team and a Junior Varsity team. The Coach we are looking for is primarily responsible for coaching the Varsity team but will oversee, supervise, mentor the Junior Varsity program as well.
We are looking for a person who has a passion for sharing their love of volleyball and working with high school students.
North Shore Country Day’s Athletic Department is committed to providing programs that enrich the lives of our students through full participation and excellence in sports. Over 90 % of our student body participates in sports every school year, and we have had considerable success earning Conference, Regional, Sectional and State championships.

North Shore Country Day Head Varsity Volleyball Coach Job Description
Team Duties:
● The Coach needs to be available during practice times which can range from
3:30-6:30 on campus. The coach must be available to travel on the bus to away game dates that could leave as early as 2:00 in the afternoon and games that can be on weekends.
● Provide supervision before and after practices and contests until all players
depart.
● Be a leader of the entire program including building connections between JV and Varsity and
relationships with the Middle School teams.
● Represent North Shore Country Day at all School, League and State Volleyball
Meetings & Workshops
● Possess strong written and oral communication skills, including observing, listening, discussing and analyzing.
● Communicate weekly with players and parents.
● Promote their team and the school year-round
● Work effectively with other coaches and athletic administration and other administrators at NSCD
● Participate in required school training and appropriate professional development
Offerings.
Have a Willingness to take the team on an overnight/out of town trip
● Have a valid IL driver’s license and be willing to drive students upon occasion in
school owned or rented vehicles.

Requirements:
BEFORE the start of the season, the Head Coach needs to acquire (if they do not have
already) the following certifications:
1) Current CPR and AED certifications
2) NFHS Coaching Fundamentals and First Aid course or ASEP certification
completion
3) All IHSA requirements including rules meeting, concussion, PES, and
Hate Speech Requirements.
